Why teams switch

The status quo is costing your team time and money

Web-only LMSes lose 60% of mobile-first learners

In India, GCC, and SE Asia, the average learner accesses content primarily on mobile. A mobile-web experience that requires bookmarking and remembering URLs hemorrhages engagement.

App-store presence drives 4× recurring engagement

Push notifications are the only message channel that works

Email open rates are 22%, SMS deliverability is shaky, WhatsApp is rate-limited. Push notifications hit 90%+ — but they need a native app.

Native push for class reminders + nudges

Offline access is non-negotiable

Learners commute, study in low-connectivity areas, lose signal in elevators. A web app without offline support is a non-starter for cohorts that aren't always on wifi.

Offline-cache chapters, videos, code labs, notebooks

How the apps work

One codebase, four native targets, full parity

Vacademy's learner app is built with Capacitor (Android + iOS) + Electron (Windows + Mac) on top of the same React codebase as the web. Updates ship simultaneously to every platform.

01

Branded build configured

Brand kit (logo, colours, app icon, splash screen, package name) configured once. Build pipeline produces .apk, .aab, .ipa, .exe, .dmg artefacts under your name.

02

Published in stores

Submitted to Google Play + Apple App Store under your developer accounts. Optional sideload distribution for enterprise. Microsoft Store + DMG for desktop.

03

Learners install + use

Native UX with push notifications, biometric login, offline cache, deeplinks. Web-feature-parity guaranteed — same screens, same workflows.

04

Updates auto-roll

Web hot-update for content + content-changes — no app-store wait. Native binary updates roll out via stores on your cadence (typically every 2 weeks).

What's inside

Real native apps — not a web view wrapper

Map these to your workflow →

Native push notifications

Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android, APNs on iOS, OneSignal fallback. Class reminders, certificate releases, exam alerts — all delivered as native push.

Offline cache

Chapters, videos, PDFs, code labs, notebooks pre-cache for offline use. Learners on the train continue lessons; progress syncs on reconnect.

Biometric login

Face ID + Touch ID + fingerprint for fast re-auth. Useful for shared-device families and centre-based cohorts.

Deep-link routing

WhatsApp + email + push links open directly to the right chapter, exam, or chat thread in the native app. No 'click here, then navigate'.

Electron desktop

Native Windows + Mac apps for office-based corporate L&D, exam-mode lockdown, and bandwidth-heavy notebook workflows.

1:1 feature parity

Every web feature works in mobile + desktop. No 'check it on the web' fallbacks. Same source of truth, same UX, four targets.

Connected to the platform

Apps amplify every other Vacademy feature

Push notifications drive automation, biometric login speeds up live-session entry, offline cache lets attendance + assessments still work in low-connectivity zones.

Push class reminder 60 min before every live session — open rate 92%.

Deep-link from WhatsApp into the specific exam / chapter — zero friction.

Cache the next 3 chapters for offline use when learner connects to wifi.

Trigger biometric re-auth before high-stakes exam attempt.

Customer spotlight

Distance-learning institute · 22,000 learners · 80% mobile

Eighty percent of our learners study primarily on phones. Switching to Vacademy's native apps (under our brand) jumped our 7-day return rate by 4×. Offline mode is the killer feature — learners study on trains, in elevators, in tier-2 cities with patchy 4G.

Head of Product, Distance Learning Institute

7-day return rate: 4× after native launch
Push notification open rate: 92% (vs 23% email)
Offline-cache usage: 41% of all chapter views

Frequently asked

Common questions from buyers

Are these real native apps or web views?+

Capacitor produces real native binaries — accessing Android / iOS APIs directly (Firebase Push, Touch ID, deep links, file system, camera). Not a web view; not a wrapped PWA.

How do app updates work?+

Content + most UI changes ship via hot-update (no app store wait). Native-only changes (new device APIs, OS-level features) ship via store updates on a typical 2-week cadence.

Can we publish under our own developer accounts?+

Yes — recommended. Apps publish under your Google Play + Apple Developer accounts so you own the store presence, ratings, reviews, and (if paid) revenue. Vacademy never touches your accounts.

Does offline mode work for everything?+

Chapters, videos, PDFs, code labs (with cached evaluators), and notebooks (with cached kernel state) all work offline. Live sessions and exams obviously need connectivity. Progress syncs automatically on reconnect.

What about Windows + Mac desktop apps?+

Electron-based desktop builds for Windows + Mac, with the same UI as web/mobile. Useful for office-based L&D, exam-mode browser lockdown, and notebook-heavy data-science cohorts.
