AI assignment grading

AI checks. Teachers decide.

Review suggested marks, feedback and checked copies before saving the grade your learner sees.

How it works

From submitted work to reviewed feedback.

Give teachers a starting point for evaluating uploaded assignments. AI suggestions stay separate from the learner’s saved grade until a teacher reviews and saves them.

  1. Open submitted assignments

Go to assignment Activity Stats and open a learner’s submission, or select the batch checking action for the group you are reviewing.

  2. Start the AI check

Evaluate one submission or check submitted copies in a batch. The batch dialog shows eligible work, estimated cost and the available credit balance.

  3. Review the suggested result

Read the suggested marks, feedback and checked copy. The assignment is evaluated as a whole against its total marks; the teacher can correct the result.

  4. Save the final grade

Save Grade publishes the teacher-approved result. Completing an AI check alone does not release marks or feedback to the learner.

Support for your teaching team

Spend review time where judgment matters.

Check one submission or a batch

Use Evaluate with AI on a learner’s submission, or Check submitted copies with AI for the latest submissions in the batch you are viewing.

Uploaded work stays in the workflow

PDF, JPG and PNG uploads can be combined for evaluation. Staff review the suggested result alongside the assignment rather than moving files between separate tools.

Clear batch eligibility

See which copies have been submitted, which lack files, and which are graded, already checked or in progress. Choose whether to re-check eligible work.

Marks and feedback remain editable

AI evaluation suggests a result. Teachers retain responsibility for reviewing accuracy, adjusting marks and saving the feedback that reaches the learner.

Credit visibility before batch checking

The batch dialog presents the estimated cost and balance before work is queued. This gives your team a practical point to review usage.

A notification when checking finishes

The teacher who starts the run receives an in-app notification and institute-branded email on completion or failure. Batch checking sends a batch-level update.

Part of your LMS

Keep assessment and teaching connected.

Assignment evaluation works inside the existing course and learner activity workflow. Teachers can continue to grade manually and use AI assistance where it helps.

  • Review work from assignment Activity Stats.
  • Keep AI suggestions separate from published learner grades.
  • Use batch processing for groups of submitted copies.
  • Continue with manual grading whenever appropriate.

Questions before you get started

Does AI publish assignment grades automatically?

No. AI results are suggestions. They can prefill marks, feedback and a checked copy, but learners see no change until a teacher reviews the result and presses Save Grade.

Which uploaded file formats can be checked?

The assignment checking workflow supports PDF, JPG and PNG uploads. Multiple supported uploads can be combined into a PDF for evaluation.

Can teachers check a whole batch of submissions?

Yes. Check submitted copies with AI works on the latest submission for each learner in the batch being viewed. The dialog shows eligible submissions, current checking status and the option to re-check previously checked work.

Is assignment grading the same as exam copy checking?

They use related evaluation capabilities but different workflows. Assignments are graded as one answer out of the assignment’s total marks. Exam copy checking supports the assessment and question-paper workflow.

Can we still grade assignments manually?

Yes. Manual grading remains available. A teacher can review an AI suggestion, change the marks or feedback, and decide what to save.

How is AI usage handled?

Assignment checking uses AI credits. The batch dialog shows an estimate and available balance before you start. Discuss your expected submission volume during a demo; no fixed per-copy price is assumed here.
